A fixed “under $150” hotel list becomes inaccurate as soon as season, taxes, room type, or meal plan changes. Compare total route cost instead: room, taxes, meals, transfers, park access, and the nights lost to transport.

ICT’s CST directory is the first screen. The public list includes properties across Arenal, Monteverde, the Pacific coast, and the Osa region. Presence in a list should be recorded with a verification date and should not be treated as a promise of a particular nightly rate.
Five total-cost questions
- Are taxes included in the displayed price?
- Is breakfast included, and are other meals realistically available nearby?
- Does the property require a private transfer or rental car?
- Is an activity package included, or is it simply bundled into a higher room rate?
- What is the cancellation policy for weather-sensitive travel?
